"Nyasi" Safari Itinerary

The group arrives at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO). Participants are met by a representative of PK Adventure and transferred to a hotel in Arusha.

Note: The hotel cost only includes breakfast. Check-in starts at 2:00 PM.

Your day begins with breakfast around 7:30 AM, after which your professional safari guide will meet you at the hotel. Shortly after, you’ll set off for Tarangire National Park, with your first game drive starting by approximately 10:00 AM.

Tarangire offers a chance to observe a wide range of Tanzanian wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and more. The park is especially renowned for its large elephant population, often found near the Tarangire River, their primary water source.

Keep in mind that this is a natural habitat, so sightings of specific animals can’t be guaranteed. That said, your guide will make every effort to track down the animals you’re hoping to encounter. Guides from PK Adventure remain in communication via radio to share sightings and help each other locate rare species.

Around midday, you’ll enjoy a packed lunch before continuing with the afternoon safari. As the day comes to a close, you’ll be driven to your accommodation on the way to the Ngorongoro Crater — a spectacular location you’ll explore the following morning.

To make the most of your day, it’s recommended to leave the hotel early, as wildlife tends to be more active in the morning hours. You can choose to have breakfast at the hotel or take it with you in a lunchbox, depending on your preference for maximizing safari time. Your journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area will begin at 6:30 AM, and after about an hour, you’ll descend into the crater.

Ngorongoro is one of Tanzania’s most iconic and biologically diverse locations, boasting the highest density of wildlife per square kilometer in the country. As you explore, you’ll likely encounter animals such as buffalo, elephants, lions, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and small wildcats like servals and caracals. With a bit of luck, you might even spot a rare rhinoceros, as their numbers are critically low.

Around midday, you’ll stop by the lake for lunch, where packed meals will be provided. Afterward, you can either continue your game drive or begin your return trip to your hotel in Arusha — the choice is entirely yours.

Rest in the hotel and transfer to the airport.

Note: Hotel check-out is at 10:00 AM. In case you need a late check-out before your evening flight, you have the option to extend your hotel stay for an extra fee. Let your manager know in advance if you need a late check-out.

Please Note:

  • By default our tours include shared accommodation in twin/double rooms, unless requested and agreed otherwise. Single supplement is available upon request. Please refer to the program to see your accommodation arrangements
  • Moshi and Arusha-based accommodations usually include breakfast only, unless requested and agreed otherwise. Please refer to the program to see your meal plans on each night
  • Most safari lodges usually do not include tea, coffee, soft and alcoholic drinks not to have you overpay for beverages you don’t need. You will be able to order and pay for drinks at the hotels’ restaurants
  • Tented lodges are the most common type of accommodation in savannah. Many of them work on solar energy. This sometimes means bucket showers, limited wi-fi and no hair dryers, all in an effort to reduce environmental impact. We encourage you to do some basic research on the accommodations in your program to ensure the safari matches your travel style
