Safari in National Parks: Lake Manyara, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater
This enriching five-day safari offers a unique chance to experience the breathtaking transformation of Lake Manyara, where seasonal colonies of pink flamingos create a stunning spectacle. Despite its ever-changing nature, the area’s natural beauty never ceases to amaze.
You will explore the pristine Ngorongoro Crater, home to an extraordinary diversity of wildlife, and uncover the secrets of the vast Serengeti savannas. Along the way, you’re sure to encounter the iconic African Big Five — elephant, buffalo, leopard, rhinoceros, and lion — as well as giraffes, hippos, cheetahs, zebras, ostriches, jackals, mongooses, and many other fascinating species.
Depending on the season, Tanzania may also bless you with the unforgettable sight of the great wildebeest migration, as massive herds traverse the sprawling Serengeti plains.

The group arrives at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO). Participants are met by a representative of PK Adventure and transferred to a hotel in Arusha.
Note: The hotel cost only includes breakfast. Check-in starts at 2:00 PM.
In the morning, after breakfast (around 7:30 AM), your safari guide will arrive at the hotel and notify the receptionist that they are waiting for you. Once you meet your driver, you will set off for Lake Manyara National Park, where by 10:00 AM, your first safari adventure begins!
The park is interlaced with groundwater streams that create a lush environment, attracting a diverse array of birds — including the iconic pink flamingos — as well as various African forest animals.
Around midday, you will stop at the soothing Maji Moto hot springs, where your driver will provide you with a personal lunchbox to enjoy. After this refreshing break, your safari will continue, and by evening, you will be transferred back to your hotel to rest and prepare for the exciting journey to Ngorongoro the following day.
For this day, it’s best to leave the hotel as early as possible to maximize your chances of spotting animals that are most active in the cool morning hours. Depending on your preference, breakfast can be served at the hotel or packed into lunchboxes for you to enjoy later on the go. At 6:30 AM, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and after about an hour’s drive, you’ll enter the breathtaking crater.
Ngorongoro is one of Tanzania’s most renowned and fascinating parks, boasting the highest concentration of animal species per square kilometer anywhere in Africa. During your visit, you can expect to see buffalo, elephants, lions, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, and elusive feline species like caracals and servals. With some luck, you may even catch a glimpse of the rare and rapidly declining rhinoceros.
By lunchtime, you will arrive lakeside, where lunchboxes will be provided. After your meal, the safari will continue for a few more hours before you are transferred to Serengeti National Park.
On the way, you’ll have the chance to visit a memorial dedicated to Bernhard and Michael Grzimek — two West German researchers whose tireless efforts helped preserve Northern Tanzania’s national parks in their pristine condition. Their story is beautifully told in the book Serengeti Shall Not Die, available on Amazon for USD 10–25.
In the evening, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, perfectly situated in the heart of the Serengeti Valley, ready for the adventures ahead.
Today, you’ll visit the most famous safari park in the world — the Serengeti. As one of Tanzania’s largest and most iconic parks, it’s home to a vast array of wildlife. You can expect to see lions, antelopes, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and zebras. There’s also a good chance of spotting cheetahs, serval cats, and other rare African savannah species.
The Serengeti is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for its vital ecosystem, dense animal populations, and the spectacular annual Great Migration. It famously inspired Disney’s “The Lion King,” but unlike a cartoon, life here is raw, wild, and breathtakingly beautiful.
Your safari adventure today will take place in the heart of the Serengeti, in the stunning Seronera region.
Your adventure continues in the heart of the Serengeti, in the expansive and vibrant Seronera region. This vast area is teeming with life, and it’s impossible to take it all in during just one day. Today, your guide will lead you to new locations and introduce you to fascinating wildlife, giving you a deeper and broader perspective of Seronera’s rich ecosystem.
The Serengeti is home to some of Africa’s rarest animals, including rhinos, leopards, serval cats, and caracals. This second day in the park significantly increases your chances of spotting these elusive creatures in their natural habitat.
This is your final day in central Serengeti. Each day in the savannah brings new and exciting experiences—you won’t see a repeat of what you’ve witnessed before, but something genuinely fresh: yesterday’s lazy lions might be on the prowl, and elephants that wandered off could be curious today.
It’s also a perfect opportunity to visit the famous Kopjes—ancient volcanic rock formations that punctuate the Seronera landscape. These shaded outcrops are favorite resting spots for animals, offering fantastic photo opportunities during your time in Central Serengeti.
You’ll also visit Simba Rock—remember the iconic opening scene of The Lion King, where Mufasa lifts baby Simba to survey the savannah? Here in Seronera, you can see that very rock that inspired the film’s creators and was faithfully recreated in the animation.
Rest in the hotel and transfer to the airport.
Note: Hotel check-out is at 10:00 AM. In case you need a late check-out before your evening flight, you have the option to extend your hotel stay for an extra fee. Let your manager know in advance if you need a late check-out.
Please Note:
- By default our tours include shared accommodation in twin/double rooms, unless requested and agreed otherwise. Single supplement is available upon request. Please refer to the program to see your accommodation arrangements
- Moshi and Arusha-based accommodations usually include breakfast only, unless requested and agreed otherwise. Please refer to the program to see your meal plans on each night
- Most safari lodges usually do not include tea, coffee, soft and alcoholic drinks not to have you overpay for beverages you don’t need. You will be able to order and pay for drinks at the hotels’ restaurants
- Tented lodges are the most common type of accommodation in savannah. Many of them work on solar energy. This sometimes means bucket showers, limited wi-fi and no hair dryers, all in an effort to reduce environmental impact. We encourage you to do some basic research on the accommodations in your program to ensure the safari matches your travel style
